Reflecting on 2025: New Year, Same Resolutions and Endless Crochet Patterns

Can you believe we're already weeks into 2025? It feels like yesterday we welcomed 2024 with a burst of creativity, armed with yarn and hooks.

With the New Year upon us, I’ve been revisiting my resolutions. Year after year, my main goal remains the same: to finish my Works In Progress. Last year, I completed several projects but the list of unfinished items seems to grow. If you’re a fellow crocheter, you likely know how this feels!

In 2024, I published more crochet patterns than ever, thanks to my collaboration with Hobbii. This partnership opened up exciting opportunities to work with a variety of beautiful yarns.

I think my favourite pattern I've created this year has to be my Canine Cuddles blanket. It just makes me smile each time I look at it, especially Frank the Pug!

I have added lots of free patterns to my website including a large collection of scarves! (I mean a girl can never have too many, right? 🤔). I finally finished my Ship Ahoy! blanket - that was an achievement in itself as it has been unfinished for quite some time.

I've also been working on my website - I've been updating it to make it more accessible. I've arrange the patterns by categories - such as winter accessories, blankets etc. So it should be easier to navigate now. It is still a work in progress, but its a good start.

Today I published my Hearts In Bloom Bag. The bag consists of 2 different square patterns. I must warn you they are highly addictive to make. I have already made 2 bags and am now using the squares to make a cardigan!

So, how do I plan to pursue my resolutions this year? My strategy includes setting small, attainable goals. Instead of feeling burdened by countless unfinished projects, I will focus on completing one WIP at a time. This approach will allow me to enjoy the crocheting process without the stress of an overwhelming to-do list.

Additionally, I want to expand my skills by learning new stitches and techniques. A few years ago I started designing a blanket where each square was a different stitch. (Another WIP!). I plan to revisit this and finish it. I was thinking of releasing it as a fun CAL - a way to try out new stitch patterns. Let me know what you think?

A Look Ahead

So I go into 2025 with the plan to be more organised and more productive. I will carry on updating the website with new free patterns. I have several more designs that will be added to my shop in the next month - including my new Bursting with Love blanket. And I will tackle at least 1 WIP this month!

Happy crocheting, everyone! 🎉

Here's to more colorful projects, collaborations, and the satisfaction of crossing off those WIPs!
